About the appeal
One of my closest friends Kate Mandeville (a recently qualified doctor), has set up a charity to help train doctors in Malawi. She grew up in Malawi and saw first hand the effect the lack of trained doctors had on the country. Throughout university she always wanted to make a difference to this cause. Now after graduating, she has set up the charity Medic-to-Medic in order to realise her vision.I am very proud of her and am trying to help her as much as possible. Hence on 10 August I am attempting to complete the London Olympic Distance Triathlon in under 2 hours 30 minutes (swim: 1.5km, cycle: 40km, run: 10km).
Thank you for your generosity and support.

About The Medic to Medic Programme
The UK has over 230 doctors per 100 000 people. Malawi has just 2 doctors per 100 000.Despite the presence of a good medical school, Malawian medical students still drop out due to lack of money.
The Medic to Medic Programme is a new scheme in which British doctors and members of the general public sponsor trainee doctors in developing countries.
This year, we are guaranteeing the tuition fees for 15 medical students at the Malawi College of Medicine, bringing them nearer to graduation and working in their home country.
Please help us sponsor 15 more next year!
